 Josef’s pianos

As a family business, we have specialised in supplying pianos for over 30 years now. They have become part of our way of life! We sell both new and used pianos and we believe it is important to offer a wide range of makes to choose from.

By getting to know the best pianos to stock and preparing them to a high standard, we have built up a great deal of knowledge and expertise over the years. We always like to offer a warm and friendly welcome so you can share this experience and benefit from the advice we have to offer.

More about us

Buying a piano is an important purchase. Your child may be starting a musical interest or you may be seeking the special piano you`ve always dreamt of. Choosing a piano, though, is not an easy task and we understand when customers say they just don’t know where to start.

Our commitment is to help you learn more about pianos so you can make a well informed choice. Whether you are just beginning or have played for many years, it makes such a difference when you find the right piano and it is a much safer investment as well.

Unfortunately there can be a lot of pitfalls when you are looking for a piano. There are many old ones which won`t play right or stay in tune and even with new pianos the quality can vary a great deal. What looks like a bargain on an auction site can so easily be full of problems. So don’t take any risks, read our advice first!

How to buy a piano

The most essential thing is to see and try a range of pianos, together in one place, so you can compare different makes, listen to the tones and view the various cabinet styles and colours. We stock up to 50 pianos of the most popular makes, both grands and uprights, and we have six individual showrooms where you can relax and take your time to consider the possible options.

Review our range of pianos

To get the best from any piano it needs to be set up well to begin with. As technicians, we are passionate about bringing out the beauty in every instrument. To do this we prepare each piano ourselves here on the premises so that it plays and sounds at its very best. We can even adjust the piano to suit your preferred touch and tone.

It really is amazing how much difference this work can make and it is useful to learn about what is involved. We think this service is one of the most important factors when buying a piano, so do look on this page to find out more.

How your piano is prepared and looked after

For many of our customers learning the piano is a brand new experience and for a lot of adults it is something they have always wanted to do but never quite had the time. It can be a relaxing and creative interest, and particularly educational for children. Most of all it should be fun, but you do need a reasonable piano to practice on, so we have some extra advice to help you get started.

Advice for beginners

So much of our trade has always been recommended and we are frequently endorsed by piano teachers and tuners. We work hard to make sure that everyone is happy with the piano they buy from us and we are proud of the feedback we receive from customers. Please take a look at some of the comments as they are very genuine and show how our reputation has built up.

Customer feedback

We offer a genuine `value for money` promise to all our customers. This is based on providing a complete package, firstly helping you to select the right piano, then making sure it is fully prepared, delivered and looked after, all to the highest standard. This is the only way to get the best value in pianos and we think this is what most people really prefer.

At the same time, by using our close links with major suppliers, we can offer really keen prices. So ring us for a quotation and we will offer you our special balance of both service and price.

Prices and quotations

Located in Northamptonshire we are easily accessible for all central areas of the country with close links to the M6, M1 and A14, so there is no need to buy a piano without coming to try them first.

Don’t forget your favourite music and bring the family or your teacher too. We have refreshments available and toys to keep the younger ones busy. Sounds like a grand day out!

How to find us

We have supplied many churches, schools and other institutions over the years and have built up a lot of experience in advising on the right piano for the type of venue. We can also arrange extra promotional discounts to support the investment you are making in music.
